01Who we are

Mohar is operated by Kananbala Samantaray, an individual based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India ("Mohar", "we", "us", or "our"). Mohar is not currently incorporated as a company or LLP — it is operated directly by this individual as a sole proprietor. This is a legally valid way to run a business in India, but it means there is no separate corporate entity standing behind the service: references to "Mohar" throughout these terms mean the individual operator described above.

You can reach us at support@mohar.app for any question about these terms.

02Acceptance of these terms

By creating a Mohar workspace, completing payment on the Join Mohar page, or logging in as an invited staff member, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Cancellation & Refunds Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Mohar.

If you create a workspace on behalf of a restaurant, café, cloud kitchen, or other food business, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on that business's behalf, and that you are at least 18 years old.

03What Mohar does

Mohar is an operations platform for food business outlets. Depending on your role, it provides:

  • Food safety checklists, scheduled by frequency and shift, with critical-item alerting
  • FSSAI-style compliance audits and document tracking (e.g. registrations, health certificates)
  • Staff attendance, captured via a selfie check-in that also verifies hygiene gear
  • Workforce scheduling, including shift templates, leave requests, and manager approval
  • Issue reporting and resolution tracking, with photo evidence and severity levels
  • A per-outlet compliance score, computed from audit, checklist, issue, and attendance signals
  • Reports and CSV exports across outlets

Mohar is a record-keeping and workflow tool. It does not certify legal compliance with FSSAI or any other regulator on your behalf — it helps you track and organize the work that compliance requires, but the responsibility for actually complying with food safety law remains yours.

04Accounts and roles

Mohar has two ways to sign in, matched to two different roles:

RoleHow they sign inWho creates the account
OwnerBusiness email + one-time password (OTP), then a 4-digit PIN for daily loginThe owner, via Join Mohar
Staff / ManagerMobile number + an invite code issued by their outlet, then a 4-digit PINThe outlet owner or manager, from the dashboard

If you are an owner or manager, you are responsible for the staff accounts you create. When you invite a staff member, you are entering their name and mobile number into Mohar on their behalf. You are responsible for having their permission to do so, and for making them aware that their attendance, checklist, and issue activity will be visible to you and other authorized managers in your workspace, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for keeping your PIN and invite codes confidential, and for any activity that happens under your account.

05Subscription and billing

Mohar is priced per outlet, billed for a fixed cycle you choose at signup (1, 3, 6, or 12 months). Payment is collected upfront, in full, for the cycle you select.

Mohar does not auto-renew. There is no recurring charge, mandate, or standing instruction taken against your payment method. When your paid cycle ends, your access lapses unless you actively start a new billing cycle. Adding an outlet mid-cycle is charged pro-rata for the remaining days; removing an outlet credits the unused value at your next renewal. Every outlet in a workspace shares one renewal date. Full detail on what happens when you stop paying, and our no-refund policy, is in our Cancellation & Refunds Policy.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Mohar does not see or store your card details — see Section 9.

06Taxes

Mohar is not currently registered for GST, and no GST is added to the price shown at checkout. The amount you see at Review & Pay is the full amount charged, with nothing added on top. This may change in the future if Mohar becomes GST-registered, in which case this section and the checkout page will be updated to show the applicable tax before you pay.

07Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Mohar for any business other than legitimate food service operations
  • Share your login, invite code, or PIN with anyone outside your own outlet
  • Attempt to access another workspace's data, or another outlet's data within a workspace, without authorization
  • Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to share
  • Interfere with or attempt to disrupt Mohar's infrastructure or security
  • Use any automated means to scrape or extract data from Mohar beyond the reporting features we provide

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate this section.

08Your content and data

You (and your staff, through you) retain ownership of the checklist responses, photos, issue reports, and other records you create in Mohar. By using Mohar, you grant us the license needed to store, process, and display that content back to you and your authorized team members, solely to provide the service.

How we collect, use, protect, and retain this data — including staff attendance selfies, profile photos, and compliance documents — is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

09Third-party services

Mohar relies on the following third parties to operate. Each processes data only as needed to provide its part of the service:

ServiceWhat it's used for
RazorpayPayment processing. Mohar never receives or stores your full card number.
SupabaseDatabase and file storage hosting for all Mohar data (checklists, attendance, issues, photos).
ResendSending transactional email (OTP codes, alerts, notifications).
SentryError monitoring, so we can find and fix bugs. Sensitive fields (PINs, tokens, photo URLs) are stripped before anything reaches Sentry.

10Intellectual property

The Mohar name, logo, and the software itself belong to us. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of Mohar's software, design, or branding to you. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Mohar for your own food business operations while your subscription is active.

11Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Because Mohar is operated by an individual and not a registered company, there is no corporate entity limiting personal liability the way a Pvt Ltd or LLP would. Please read this section carefully.

Mohar is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it independently satisfies every FSSAI or local food-safety requirement that applies to your business — Mohar is a tool to help you track and organize compliance work, not a substitute for your own legal or regulatory judgment.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Mohar is limited to the amount you paid us in the billing cycle in which the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business, arising from your use of the service.

12Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, including the Acceptable Use section above. You may stop using Mohar at any time by contacting support@mohar.app — see our Cancellation & Refunds Policy for what happens to your data and access when you do.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Mohar will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.

14Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder, the Grievance Officer for Mohar can be reached at:

Grievance Officer
Kananbala Samantaray
Email: support@mohar.app
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India

We aim to acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, as required by law.

15Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Mohar evolves — for example, if GST registration is completed, or if new features change how billing works. We'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of Mohar after a change means you accept the updated terms.
